Best Food To Prevent Breast Cancer

There are a lot of scientific studies that have confirmed the link between breast cancer and disorder in the thyroid gland. The factor that actually links them may be iodine. Statistics also confirms this thesis.

30 years ago, one of twenty women was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today, one of eight American women are diagnosed with breast cancer.

This is mainly a result of the changes in lifestyle and diet, as well as the fact that people today consume less iodine. This is again confirmed by statistics.

People in Japan have a significantly lower percentage of breast cancer cases, as well as cases with thyroid problems. This is mainly because of the fact that they consume food rich in iodine, mostly fish and seafood.

In this case, genetics is excluded due to the fact that Japanese women who have moved to the USA and consume a “Western” diet have a higher percentage of breast cancer and thyroid problems.

Scientific experiments have shown that larger amounts of iodine slow down the growth of cancer and its possibility of division. One American study has even shown that 98% of women with breast cancer who were treated with iodine have no longer experienced severe pain. Moreover, 72% of the women had improvements in their breast tissue.

As you can see, this mineral is not only important for the proper function of the thyroid but for its preventive function in some forms of cancer as well. So, how much iodine does the body need on a daily basis?

The body needs a minimum of 150 micrograms of iodine a day. However, better effects are achieved with higher doses and it is not dangerous at all to consume more iodine.

A living example of that is the Japanese people who consume 12 milligrams of iodine per day, which is 10 times more than the recommended dose.
